Traumatarium Demo & Updates
Hi all,
First, juts wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed interest in this game, played it, left a review or kind words.
Your support means a lot to me and I read and try to answer every comment left. I'm just one guy making games for fun, and seeing people actually interact with my work and enjoy it brings me an insane amount of joy.
As you may have noticed, quite a bit of changes came to the page and the overall art direction, in trying to flesh out the style and build a more robust product (maybe some day physical release, if I can figure out all the logistics of doing it? Any interest?).
Onto the game; I never expected anyone to really care about this little thing, and never expected people to want more, so the scope shifted to creating something a bit more robust, but also something you can juts pick up and play in short bursts and enjoy. Also the feedback has been invaluable in finding some bugs and squashing them. Again, being juts one guy makes play testing really hard, especially in those little interactions that I may miss.
So first in line...
- A brand new dungeon to explore, with a new boss!
- A town section where you can rest, save and get a peek at some of the future implementations coming soon
- There is now currency in he game! You can earn gold from defeating enemies!
- Started on the Relics, each dungeon will have one that you can find in some of the encounters
- Relic menu shows your gold and acquired Relics now
- Save function implemented at the Inn so you can continue your journey later and not lose progress or gold
- The overall scope is larger, goal being 4 dungeons, that once completed unlock the Traumatarium
- Deluxe edition now has a booklet manual!
- Fixed the "invincibility" bug that let you avoid enemy attacks altogether
- Vitality now works properly, and yes, if your health is low, you may find yourself dead entering a room
- Menu updated, as sometimes items would glitch out
From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for your support. I want to take a minute to explain why this game was so important, and why I really want to finish a great polished item.
This journey started when I lost my dog, Syd. It was an incredibly rough time, mentally and emotionally. I was stuck. I found myself not really wanting to do much of anything, and in a really dark space. My only escape was imagination, and even that took me to a dark place with the origins of Traumatarium (maybe now the name makes more sense). But as I worked on it, I didn't want something with his memory attached to be dark, or depressing. So I took this idea of a trip through my subconscious and changed it to something more fun and ridiculous, thinking back to my childhood and playing board games like Warhammer Quest, with the ridiculous barbarians and goofy orks.
I think that's also why I want to eventually finish this as a polished game, in his honor. He was a goofy guy who juts wanted neck rubs and to be close to you, so hopefully this is a way to celebrate his life, and how much he brought to my life. You will never be forgotten, little buddy.
But enough rumbling from me. Hope you guys enjoy the updates, and keep exploring those dungeons!!

Not ganna lie, the muscle pulled me in but the game has a fun gameplay loop and awesome aestetics to it
Glad you stuck around and enjoyed it!
Syd sounded like an amazing friend, and it's beautiful that you dedicated your art to him. I hope you continue to create great things that come from better places or, at least, from healing. Thanks for the update!
Thank you for the kind words! He was a very special guy, and glad I can honor his memory in any way I can
Glad you found peace and inspiration through the making of this game. I find it fantastic.
The art is gorgeous.
And it's very simple - so it gets addictive.
Thank you for this!
Don't worry, Syd remains and will remain always by your side. :)
Thank you for the kind words. It really means a lot, and glad you enjoyed the game!
